Swim Deep - King City (Track review)

Bursting out of Birmingham, Swim Deep are a four-piece intent on delivering infectious pieces of sun-kissed pop. You'll probably have heard of them by now, of course. They seem to have grown in ability with each release and this culminated recently in a sold-out UK tour.
Pals of fellow Midlanders Peace and Jaws, Birmingham seems to be a real hub of creativity right now. Swim Deep have today released a re-working of their debut single 'King City' which will feature on their forthcoming debut record Where The Heaven Are We. The record is set for a August release on Chess Club Records and is bound to be one of the British debuts of the year.
'King City' features better production than the original, with a suitably colossal chorus which makes you want to propose to your radio. "With the sun on my back, it's a nice day" frontman Austin Williams breathes as a chorus of "ooh"'s ring around him. A nice day, indeed.
