Microsoft Responds to Xbox One’s Always-Online Criticism… by Telling Gamers to Stick with 360

Wednesday 12th June 2013 | Hanjie

In what is seen as yet another PR fail from Microsoft, Don Mattrick has addressed concerns about the Xbox One’s internet requirements, asking gamers with inadequate internet connection to stick with the Xbox 360.

In an interview filmed prior to Microsoft’s E3 Press Conference, Mattrick stated that “”Fortunately we have a product for people who aren’t able to get some form of connectivity; it’s called Xbox 360”.

“If you have zero access to the Internet that is an offline device”.

Needless to say, the interview hasn’t done Microsoft any favors. In addition to switching to other consoles (namely Sony’s Playstation 4, which is quickly winning the next-gen console war with its lower cost and DRM-less features), many gamers have also discontinued their current Xbox subscriptions as a sign of protest towards the Xbox One, which contains numerous DRM features that restrict gamers' abilities to trade and share games.

You can watch the part of the interview below (be quick though - word is that Microsoft and Viacom are on a witch hunt to remove these videos):
