Samsung Galaxy S8 may start to recognize faces!

Other | Friday 10th March 2017 | Idrees

According to a report by Korea Economic Daily, The Samsung Galaxy S8 may include a facial recognition feature to unlock your phone more easily.

The extra security option may come in addition to a possible iris scanner as well as the fingerprint sensor.

Those who are accustomed to the fingerprint sensor on the home button may be surprised as apparently leaks suggest that Samsung may have moved the sensor to the back of the phone.

So, instead of creating a habit of using the new fingerprint sensor, it may actually be quicker to use the face camera.

Since it may actually take less than 0.01 seconds to unlock your phone using facial recognition, according to an unnamed Samsung official quoted in the report.

Those like me, who enjoy acting like a secret agent may also enjoy the iris scanning feature to unlock the device as the report states that the S8 may include the feature which was included in the Note 7.

The method uses the unique patterns in your eyes as identification, although the security merits have been debated.

The S8 is expected to be announced on March 29, so if it does include the facial recognition, this may set a new precedent amongst new phones.
