SANCHO PANZA have a lot to shout about in the month of May. A triple celebration with 20 years of Sancho Panza musical partnership, 20 vibrant years at the Notting Hill Carnival and 5 jumping residential years at East Village.
Matt Brown + Jimmy K-Tel aka Sancho Panza celebrate two centuries of dance music! To help them get the party started, Sancho Panza have pledged a series of events starting with East Village on Saturday 25th May in the house basement.
Has it really been 20 years? Sancho Panza began in 1992 in a humble surroundings of a basement, the London party crew have since taken the world by storm, hosted and rocked some of the finest parties from warehouses and studios, to cinemas, gyms and their legendary boat parties on the Thames. The boys have toured and played the festival circuit including Glastonbury, Sonar, Glade, Big Chill and Bestival as well as our very own homegrown Carnival street party. You name it Sancho have probably been there, done that, got the t-shirt.
Sancho Panza became a brand and household name, released music to much critical acclaim, featured across the main dance and music press. Jim and Matt, partners in crime have been flying the flag for Sancho Panza for a very healthy and happy 20 years. What a milestone to have reached, committed to the music, each other, Notting Hill Carnival for two dancing decades!! They are renowned for hosting the UK’s largest street parties on the biggest stack of Funktion One, dedicated to the cause and their followers - underground house music old and new. Notting Hill Carnival legends Sancho Panza celebrate 20 years of hedonistic clubbing pleasure at East Village on Saturday 25th May.
SOUL MEKANIK aka Kelvin Andrews and Danny Mekanik will be supporting in the house basement. Individually and together they have been involved in music over 25 years, with an epic and diverse catalogue of credits to their name, you are sure to have heard one or more of their creations under the evolving guises of Danny’s own trips with This Aint Chicago and Candy Flip, Danny & Kelvin together as part of Sound 5 and then just the two of them as firstly Sure is Pure and their most recent incarnation Soul Mekanik. Acid house heroes and other highlights include writing a number one single with Robbie Williams, remixing the likes of Sister Sledge, The Doobie Brothers and Aretha Franklin no less. It can be said that they have helped soundtrack some of the last two decade’s symphonic moments of dance floor gold.
