TRIBE UK returns to the capital after a year’s hiatus, for their first party of the year at Plastic People in London. Since this time the critically acclaimed independent dance label “Tribe” have been busy spreading their motto ‘One Sound One People’ and world domination reaching across Europe, South Africa, North America and the US.
Their back catalogue has built an impressive track record in a short space of time. Receiving love and support from the world’s Top DJs in the deep house genre. Fast forward 2013 the label are looking to introduce a new sound to London ‘Afro house’, dropping in specialist tunes and some afro mash ups in the mix at Plastic People.
Zepherin head honcho, producer, DJ, talent scout and co-founder of Tribe records, is a veteran in the industry, DJ-ing for two decades in the London warehouse scene, aswell as lighting up the dance floor for the likes of Michael Jackson. Saint has toured extensively, in the most unexpected places like Beirut, Syria, Egypt. Feeding into an obsessive love of soul music, Producing a unique blend of afro house, referencing primary roots into a myriad of hypnotic layers, the sound is deep and intoxicating.
Kristel Morin was picked up by Tribe Records and helps manage the record label. She is also a respected DJ in her own right, originally from Sydney, Australia now residing in London. Kristel picked up her first set of turntables in 2002 and never looked back. Over the years providing Sydney and London with her own unique deep house sound, Kristel's sets represent the true sounds of New York Garage and House with Afro-house flavours alongside a real bias for vocal tracks, influenced by her musical tastes which developed through a love for soul, hip hop, R&B and neo soul. Morin holds a residency for Tribe’s monthly party in London and Paris, and joined Tribe records on their Southern Africa tour, she has also played alongside some of the house scenes best producers including Black Coffee, Osunlade, Boddhi Satva and Spinna.
Tribe have now launched their fair trade organic t-shirt range available from the companies website as well as a new membership scheme offering discounts on products and event entrance.
The Tribe team are also in the middle of organizing their 1st installment of “Can You Dance To My Beat” Festival in Kefalonia Island, Greece on 14-17 August.
Tribe also host their bi monthly event at Djoon Club in Paris, the best club for Soulful house. Next party is 10th May. The last party was a road block – video footage here:

Zepherin Saint (Tribe) & Kristel Morin (Tribe) will be providing a fresh new soundtrack and residency at Plastic People starting on Sunday 26th May from 9pm- late. £8 before 12 am, £10 after.
