Event preview: Groove Armada’s Andy Cato celebrates release of solo album with album launch and exhibition at The Book Club

Tuesday 23rd April 2013 |

After 20 years of hard work, Andy Cato is releasing his solo album Times and Places and will be holding a photographic exhibition to celebrate

On April 29th Andy Cato from Groove Armada is due to release his first solo album, Times and Places, on Apollo/R&S. This will be a momentous event for Andy, who has worked on this solo material since before Groove Armada even started – there are tracks on the LP which date as far back as 1993.

To celebrate, he will be holding a two month photographic exhibition at The Book Club in Shoreditch, displaying all the history and locations of the album’s creation; in turn creating a visual documentation  of the past 20 years of British dance music culture.

The exhibition will launch on the 25th April, featuring DJ sets from Cato and Mulletover’s Geddes –  the invite-only private event will run from 6pm and be open to the public from 8pm. For anyone interested in British dance music culture and fans of Groove Armada alike, this is a must see.
