Humor Chic Against Fashion Copycats
Friday 5th April 2013 | Serena
The satirical blog Humor Chic against the fashion industry but this time is not about funny cartoons, which feature the world's most famous designers such as Karl Lagerfeld or the most feared editor Anna Wintur.
No, this time the accusation are serious: the illustrator aleXsandro Palombo comes out against Raf Simons, Phoebe Philo and Miuccia Prada guilty of having copied shamelessly from previous designers in their latest collections.
In his latest campaign called "No Fakes" the illustrator of Humor Chic compares recent creations by Raf Simons for Dior with a model created by the movie's costume designer Edit Head, Phoebe Philo for Celine copy a sweater of Geoffrey Beene and yet look of French fashion designer of the 70s Courreges with the latest floral dresses from Prada.
Obvious homage to the past designers, but with humor, Palumbo puts a big question mark on what's really new in fashion today, with the motto "No Rats - Super Trap : protect fashion designers from copycat".
