Guestlist Recommends: Swim Deep

Another band that has emerged from the depths of Birmingham is the indie four piece, Swim Deep. They have been brought to our attention a lot over the past few months, and although they were only singed to RCA in early August last year, they have been making a big stir in the indie music scene.
Listening to their latest single “The Sea” that was released on 4th March, it makes you feel like you’re on a lovely, sunny beach somewhere hot, and not strolling through the cold streets of London. Lead singer Austin Williams said in an interview that the thought of being somewhere hot and sunny is what inspires their music, and not the wonders of rainy Birmingham. They want their fans to listen to their music and instantly feel happier, and we certainly do.
The boys have recently finished a headline tour across the UK, and they are set to play many festivals over the summer, including the likes of Bestival and Benicassim.
Their music has been described as “beach grunge” and “surf rock”. They have a very laid back sound, with chilled melodies, but there is enough beat in there to keep your foot tapping the entire time. Now their lyrics probably won’t change your life, but with listening as easy as this, you should definitely get their beautiful sounds into your ears.
Their album is set to drop later this year, and here at Guestlist we can’t wait to hear more from this delightful Birmingham foursome.
