The Undertones, Blondie and... One Direction?

Where do we start with this absolutely, shambolic attempt at a Blondie/Undertones cover.
I suppose the cockiness of the 5 boys is somewhere. The lads have obviously developed lovely egos for themselves since appearing on the X Factor in 2010, (yep, it really has been 3 years of One Direction agony).
One Direction have not made any effort to do this. They have not tried to ‘make it their own’ (to use an stereotypical X Factor term) whatsoever. Whoops, I do beg your pardon, the weird, pinball machine sound effects at the beginning, are probably the boy’s shot at making the tracks sound like their own actually.
Other than that the performance is two different songs. The first song is sung (I use the word sung in the loosest sense), then the second, and finally a lame shot is made at merging the two together.
‘One Way Or Another’ was sung first, although some parts did fall flat. However the ‘Teenage Kicks’ section of this tragedy were simply shouted. You could have saved yourself some money here ITV and ditched the ghastly, giant pinball machine the boys were perched on. You could have instead, shown a clip of the of lads, drunkenly shouting along to ‘Teenage Kicks’ in an indie nightclub somewhere. I bet the excitable girls in the crowds lining the O2, still would have screamed for them.
The only good thing about this single is that the proceeds go to charity, and that is it. I’m quite sure the lovely people at the Red Nose Day charity-single headquarters, have not put much thought into the song. They know that putting One Direction on a chairty single, is enough to sell and make money for them. It’s just a catastrophy, that Blondie & The Undertones’ songs have fallen victim to this.
Here’s how the songs are meant to sound.
Blondie 'One Way Or Another'
The Undertones 'Teenage Kicks'
