Some Velvet Morning: off with a bang

How many bands get one of their demos featured on an international Hollywood blockbuster trailer? Well, Some Velvet Morning did. Their single ‘How To Start A Revolution’ from their debut album Silence Will Kill You (2007) landed on the trailer for the superhero action comedy film Kick-Ass (2010). Not bad for an album they made while still not being entirely sure of what they were doing.
After kicking off their career with such a bang, the 80s synth-pop influenced group have since put out a second album, Allies. But the North London band needed £100,000 from crowd funding for the release to be a success. Luckily, with the dedicated and growing Some Velvet Morning fan base, the band gathered the full amount in only six weeks.
