Beck gives David Bowie classic 360-degree makeover

Indie | Wednesday 13th February 2013 | Varala

Beck has come a long way from his Flannel-wearing, ‘Loser’ days. Now the indie musician has suited up to perform with a 160 piece orchestra to cover David Bowie’s ‘Sound And Vision’. But Beck doesn’t just cover this 1977 classic. He adds elements of animation, theatre, orchestra and technology like he has never done before. It looks and sounds like a mini musical.

With a 360-degree stage layout, everyone has a perfect view of Beck. And that includes online viewers. With the sophisticated production behind the footage and sound captured by 360-degree cameras and 360-degree binaural microphones, online viewers can ‘interact’ with the lenses and microphones. So we can hear and see the cover from anywhere in the room.

From every angle, Beck is a spectacle on that tiny round stage. This one is going down as one of the best covers ever done.
