Iron and Wine Announce European Tour

Samuel Beam, solo singer-songwriter behind Iron and Wine is about to have a busy year. Set to perform two UK dates, and a further five across Europe during May, to promote upcoming album Ghost on Ghost.
The much-anticipated release will include preview track, ‘Lovers’ Revolution’ which has divided opinion. The new direction has been criticised by some fans who feel Beam has abandoned his folk-roots. Whilst one shocked listener commented ‘Damn it Sam! Please come back’, others have embraced the adventurous evolution, describing the track as ‘beautifully complex lyrical-poetry’. It seems that as it stands, the jury’s out until the record is.
Although this ambitious effort has elected not to comply with Iron and Wine’s signature laid-back style, it seems to be the more prominent jazz-influenced edge which is alarming long-term followers. Yet concerned fans can be assured that Beam’s trademark heartfelt lyrics are still very much a part of this new direction, complimenting it generously. This one’s definitely like Marmite!
