New presenter helps revitalises station for the young crowd?
Since Chris Moyles left his Radio One breakfast slot back in September his replacement, Nick Grimshaw, has actually had a reduced listenership. But obviously that’s not the whole story as studies suggest his younger listener base has actually increased dramatically by an estimated 250,000, according to RAJAR the official radio audience researchers. While Mr Grimshaw plays sounds from the typical modern pop landscape you’d expect from such a position, he’s also expanded the palette to the alternative play of artists from the Foals to Everything Everything. Coupled with the already popular and indie heavy evening shows from Zane Lowe, perhaps Radio One truly is the new place for guitar driven music on the radiowaves. If you are in anyway way interested check Iplayer to catch up on Grimshaw's breakfast shows or tune in live every day during the week from 6:30 am.
