Noel Gallagher Announces Teenage Cancer Trust 2013 Line-up

Indie | Friday 7th December 2012 | Martin

The festival season has officially frozen to a close, replaced by the festive season – a time which has been immortalised by images of Cliff Richard whining to Christmas jingles or Macaulay Culkin getting even more revenge on his assailants in possibly the 1000th re-run of Home Alone.

Music lovers fear not, 2013 is nearly here. With the positive news that Christmas has almost come and gone is an announcement from Noel Gallagher about the line-up of the annual Teenage Cancer Trust concerts in The Royal Albert Hall. The acts are as follows: Noel Gallagher (special guests: Damon Albarn and Graham Coxon), Ryan Adams, Russell Brand and Noel Fielding, Primal Scream, Rizzle Kicks and Labrinth, and Kasabian.

Whilst Roger Daltrey, the usual curator of this event, is off touring America with legendary rockers The Who, Noel Gallagher has been entrusted with the task of comprising this year’s superstar line-up. His mission made was all the more complex by the talent that has played this gig in years past, including: The Cure, Eric Clapton, Madness, Arctic Monkeys, JLS, Jessie J, Tinie Tempah, and Biffy Clyro. Gallagher’s selection is inspired though, with synonymous names from varying genres of music, and edgy comedians to match. This year’s comedy offering comes in the shape of the wild-haired duo (Brand and Fielding), which offers another dynamic to this yearly charity event. However, the highlight out of the six evenings of entertainment will surely be Mr. Gallagher and his special guests, Damon Albarn in particular offering up his huge pedigree in the music industry - his conquests including 'solo artist', 'member of Blur', and 'former member of Gorillaz' (who are currently on hiatus).

So in the name of charity, good music, and comedy, check out next year’s Teenage Cancer Trust concert and get involved!
