Where Hard Renegades Will Rewire Electric
This Saturday sees the parking of the old drum ‘n’ bass juggernaut in SW2’s latest nightlife hub Electric, with a line-up packing more punch than Floyd Mayweather beating Judy with a stick in a puppet show after having too many juice-based cocktails from a large bowl at a party. With its phenomenal stage and unparalleled sightlines, Electric Brixton provides the arena for their blow-out end of year celebration!
For those that think Hardware’s had its day, GET OUT, just get out now. No, seriously, there are some big, dirty line-ups out there these days from Critical, Shogun, Headz et al but, with this entourage and venue selection, Hardware have made it clear that they’re still very much in the top bracket of D’n’B promotion and show no signs of dropping off the radar of artists and clubbers alike.
Take it as read Friction will roll out disgracefully at Hardware, probably making his Shogun sets at Cable seem like an ambient stroll through wild daisies in comparison. Also repping the Shogun stable will be Rockwell who’ll be funking up the dance in his own inimitable fashion.
Wicked guest appearances abound in the shapes of dark production demi-gods Audio and Tech Itch and the epicly intriguing figure that is Robyn Chaos. Hardware mainstay Loxy’s set should be a fixture in all ravers’ itineraries for the night, standard. The microphone will be in safe hands with hosts AD, Stapleton, K-Eye and Fokus to name but a few.
And if your wizened, old selves have already seen Friccy, Rockwell and Audio play 15 times in the last week, then Room 2 is showcasing the next generation of label artists from the RH Academy. Might even provide a modicum of relief from the aural and visual bombardment of Room 1. Probably not though.
