Kathleen Edwards in London

Indie | Thursday 15th November 2012 | Laura

The 6th and 7th December, the Canadian singer/songwriter will be performing her fourth album, Voyageur.

Kathleen Edwards is bringing us Londoners her most heavy work –in a personal exploration sense. Edward is unfairly most known for being Bon Iver leader's  girlfriend, than for her country rock clever songs.  She was good before Justin Vermon, as Bon Iver’s leader himself already knew most of Edwards' material and covered ‘Mercury’ off her first record, Failer. He helped her this time by playing guitars and other instruments while providing backing vocals on a record of 10 songs all written by Edwards.

As she explains, is a dissemination of her brain: "The record was about trying to figure out who I am or trying to figure out what I'm bad at or where I want to go or how I can be a better person and looking at my faults pretty .... picking a pretty good dissection of my brain and trying to figure out ... what the fuck, you know, how is this shit all supposed to work? Maybe I bit off more than I could chew in trying to figure that out. And it kind of got overwhelming. There aren't always answers for the questions you're looking for, so I have to make peace with that sometimes.", she told to Huffington Post.

Voyageur is Kathleen’s transforming trip, as the album  “celebrates the many pleasures of survival and reinvention, suggesting that an acceptance of life’s changeability is what will allow us to face the hardest of hard times — as well as the exhilarating longing and dislocation of the unknown — head on, with grace”. So if you’re ready to follow her on this trip and have a taste of what this –funny in a cynical way- deep and talented woman have to offer, she will be performing the 7th December  7 Bush Hall, 310 Uxbridge Rd, London.
