The band played just four songs before singer Brandon Flowers called off the gig due to a sore throat.
Manchester-based fans of The Killers have been left disappointed after the band stopped their performance on Tuesday and cancelled last night’s show as well. After playing just four songs, singer Brandon Flowers was forced to call it a night after a sore throat meant he was unable to continue singing – check out the footage one spectator filmed below.
Flowers apologised to the crowd before walking off stage, saying: “I'm sorry, I've never had to do this before but we've gotta stop. I can't sing… I don't know what else to tell you. I'm sorry. I know it's frustrating for you and I'm sorry. I promise that we will come back”. A follow-up statement on the band’s Facebook page said “Manchester, we started something we couldn't finish and we're so, so sorry. Working on rescheduling tonight and tomorrow's shows. Will let you know new dates ASAP.” The group’s London dates, and other future performances, are as yet unaffected.
Audience members did seem sympathetic, with one stating that “the first four songs were amazing”, though others are doubtful as to whether a sore throat constituted a good enough reason to cancel the show. Ticket holders have been advised to keep their tickets and contact their point of purchase for more information.
Clearly it took a lot of balls to end such a large gig so prematurely – proving Brandon’s got soul, but he isn’t much of a soldier.
