Liam Bailey at Union Chapel

RnB/Hip Hop | Thursday 27th September 2012 | Laura

The English musician will be playing the 1st November in a very special event.

Liam Bailey & Friends is an event organised by Mahogany Blog, which will also feature some of Liam’s guests accompanying him at the Union Chapel scenario on existing and brand new songs.

This self-taught Nottingham musician, grew up listening to his parents' Bob Marley, Stevie Wonder, and Jimi Hendrix record collection. Maybe that's why his music, mainly soul tinted, also combines blues, reggae and dub. He is also a confessed admirer of The Black Keys, Jake Bugg, Radiohead, Wu Lyfe and Adele.

He started his career in 2010 when he released two EPs, So Down, Cold and 2am Rough Tracks through Amy Winehouse’s Lioness Records. He also collaborated with Chase & Status in the single ‘Blind Faith’ in 2011, with Delilah in her song ‘Breathe’ in 2012, and supported Ellie Goulding on her U.K. tour. Meanwhile he record his first singe, ‘You Better Leave Me’. Often compared with Sam Cooke, Otis Redding , and even the male version of Amy Winehouse for her Soul voice, Bailey recently released the EP It’s Not The Same and the single ‘Please Love Me’. We still have to wait a little bit more to hear his debut album Out of the Shadows, which he is about to release.
