Atoms for Peace to release vinyl of debut single

Indie | Thursday 27th September 2012 | Osh

Thom Yorke’s supergroup have taken three years to get their first single out to the public, but the ball seems to be rolling for the collaborative act.

Having premiered their debut track ‘Default’ earlier this month, the collective band are releasing a 12” vinyl on 19th November through XL Recordings. The group, which includes Red Hot Chili Peppers’ bassist Flea as well as producer Nigel Grodrich, have already performed one collaborative song, ‘Judge, Jury and Executioner’, in April 2010, but this is their first actual release. The band also features multi-instrumentalist Mauro Refosco, with Beck’s Joey Waronker on drums.

Up until now, Atoms for Peace have been playing Yorke’s solo material live, with shows in Los Angeles in October 2009, but the singer has been working on further tracks since last year along with Flea. Little is known about the group’s debut album, except that it is due for release early next year. With Refosco, Waronker, Godrich and Flea on board, it is sure to be packed full of quality music.
