Dragonette releases a new album

Indie | Wednesday 26th September 2012 | Laura

The Canadian electro-pop band, formed by  singer-songwriter Martina Sorbara, bassist and producer Dan Kurtz (also in The New Deal) and drummer Joel Stouffer, who became famous worldwide with her song ‘Hello’, are back again with new material to burn the dance floors.

The band, who signed at the beginning with Mercury Records, already have two albums in the market: Galore (2007) and  Fixin to Thrill (2009). They toured the UK supporting Basement Jaxx, with whom they also co-produced their hit ‘Take me back to your house’ and Sugababes. But what made them succeed, was their collaboration with French DJ Martin Solveig, with songs such as ‘Boys & Girls’, ‘Hello’ ,’Can't Stop’ and ‘Big in Japan’,  all included in Solveig's 2011 album Smash.

Their new album, Bodyparts, is the first to have outside producers and to be released at the same time in Canada and the U.S. In this twelve track album, you can find songs such as super-catchy "Live in this City," "Hello" version two, "My Legs" and the song (my favorite) "Let It Go," which you can listen in the video below.

Note: They will be performing in London 11th October in the London Music Hall.
