The heart wrenching Scottish band are back with a new EP , “State Hospital” ready to strum our heart strings to ecstasy.
I can’t decide if the reason Frabbits evoke such emotional responses in their songs is because of the cut-throat , beautiful lyrics or the strong accent. Every word uttered from lead singer Scott Hutchison’s mouth, feels like him stretching out and laying bare his soul with no let-up. It’s almost painful to hear such refreshing honesty.
Now I know I just sounded like Stephen Fry and Laurence Llewelyn Bowen simultaneously vomited onto this article but it’s hard to talk about this band any other way, they really are extraordinary.
On top of the lead track from this EP ‘State Hospital’ being absolutely breath-taking the video is also perhaps the best music video I’ve seen in quite some time. Created by the ‘Hand held cine club’, two brothers based in the North of England, it is near on impossible to tear your eyes away from this captivating video.
Frightened Rabbit are breathing new life into indie/ pop/ folk deliciousness describing themselves as, “Let’s keep pop music alive by getting it out of that dress and into a sweater.” Fetch me some knitting needles for a new sweater as I’m ready for Frightened Rabbit to well and truly rock my socks.
