Crystal Fighters announce Remixes album

Indie | Friday 21st September 2012 | Osh

Two years ago, the world was introduced to a new album that brought with it the new sound of Crystal Fighters. Labeled as ‘folktronica’, the London-based Spanish outfit brought together Basque folk instruments with banging drum loops, heavy synth and an energy to make most live artists look lazy.

Their much-loved debut album Star of Love is still drawing attention today, as more and more discover it. With the band currently working on their follow up, set for release in spring 2013, Crystal Fighters have announced details of a remixed version of their first album. Fans do not have long to wait, as it will be released this Sunday (23rd September).

The band approached a handpicked list of artists and producers, inviting them to remix a track of their choice. For example, ‘At Home’, the current single out in the US, has been remixed three separate times by Passion Pit, post-dubstep outfit Disclosure and French electro-punk band Pony Pony Run Run.

The album will also feature DnB producers Brookes Brothers and dBridge, electro-pop artist Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs (TEED), dubstep pair Roksonix and Indonesian electronic artist Angger Dimas, along with many more. Clearly, Crystal Fighters wanted their remixed album to reflect the entire globe’s music, a fact that will no doubt cause a huge variety of musical styles to feature.

If you can’t wait for Sunday’s release of Star of Love (Remixes), listen to the Passion Pit remix of ‘At Home’ below.
