It is two years since the first release of the blues tune "It Ain't My Fault" by Preservation Hall Jazz Band that was designed by Yasiin Bey (formerly yet afffectionately known as Mos Def) to raise money and make a political statement about the lack of ownership taken by involved parties for the BP oil spill off the coast of New Orleans in 2010. Other participating artists include Lenny Kravitz, Tim Robbins and Trombone Shorty who incidentally were all nearby the venue where the track was being recorded and so their contributions were entirely impromptu.
They are releasing a new version for 25th September of this year. Keep an eye out for that but in the meantime, here is the original version for your viewing and listening pleasure.
