Drummers are the unsung heroes of bands, placed out of sight, unknown to the masses but the list of the 30 richest drummers in the world has shown these musical animals do get paid.
Unless you’re willing to go for Keith Moon-esque antics of throwing TV’s out of windows, driving Roll’s Royce’s into swimming pools and just causing general mayhem and destruction similar to that of an invading army, the chances are as the musical backbone you’re not that likely to claim the true glitz and glamour of the rock world.
However, the website CelebrityNetwork.com had provided all aspiring drummers with a glimmer of optimism that their musical aptitude will be financially rewarded.
At the top of the list with a massive $300 million dollars is the ex-Beatle Ringo Starr. This news comes with a sense of irony after Lennon’s famous quote that when asked if Starr was the best drummer in the world he replied ‘Ringo Starr isn’t even the best drummer in the Beatles’. Following closely behind is Phil Collins in the number two slot with $250 million and Nirvana and Foo Fighters musician Dave Grohl in third with $225 million.
The full top 30 list is shown below and considering the numbers think it’s time I put down my pen and picked up some drum sticks:
