Amongst the members of my hip-hop group “The Geeks”, we normally tend to have a few competitive battles on who can first discover the next big talent to hit the radio waves. Right now I think I am on top of the table with several big artists under my belt. This gives us a chance to hear a wide range of up and coming artists that will be prospects for the future. It also enables us to identify the one hit wonders and fade-outs. Most people only listen to a single when it is out commercially. They are yet to understand that supporting an artist because they are the new craze doesn’t make you a loyal fan.
Today, here at the Guestlist Network I am going to share an up and coming artist that I personally think will be a star in the future. “MaLLy” coming straight out of South Minneapolis, USA. His birth name Malik Watkins. During high school he was one of the few black students that achieved straight A’s in his neighborhood.
With a diverse conscious rap style, he jumps on board beats that are just the fit for what he brings to the game. “Mally” started in 2009 and since then he has come a long way, releasing material after material of top quality music. Now that he’s linked up with producer ‘The Sundance Kid’ things can only get “doper”. They have both released an album together, which has taken over the Internet. Also being me, I am educating people on Mally and other up and coming artists just so I can be the one to say ‘I told you so’.
Mally and The Sundance Kid’s album “The Last Great” is a compilation that everybody needs to have, showing a different array of beats, rap topics, lyrical ability and conscious style. Also Having “Brother Ali” on the album is showing that he is branching out making big people in the game turn they’re heads to listen to him and collaborate. I want to see more people featuring with him so more people can listen and understand what “MaLLy” is about, start believing!
