According to the Fact Magazine website last week, London Pleasure Gardens was forced to go into administration. A rumour that has been confirmed by a declaration on the London Pleasure Gardens website which said: “It is with great sadness that London Pleasure Gardens Ltd has been placed into administration. We will issue more information within the next few days but would like to thank everyone who has supported us and our vision. The team of the site of this year’s Bloc Festival fiasco are working with the administrators to ensure the current situation is sorted out in the best possible way.
Robert James Harding and Lee Antony Manning, partners in Deloitte were appointed Joint Administrators of London Pleasure Gardens Limited (“the Company”) on 3 August 2012. The affairs, business and property of the Company are managed by the Joint Administrators. The Joint Administrators act as agents of the Company and contract without personal liability. All Insolvency Practitioners of Deloitte LLP are licensed in the UK. If you require any further information please contact James Howie on 020 7007 2216.”
But the troubles don’t end there, if you go to the Facebook page, several people are claiming to have not been paid what they’re owed by Pleasure Gardens for working at the venue.
This July, Bloc threw their highest profile festival to date at London Pleasure Gardens, with what appears to be a combination of factors contributing to an overcrowded, understaffed event and so, logically, the company behind Bloc, have since gone into administration.
We’ll keep this story up to date because it looks like it’s just like the beginning.
