Snow Patrol Break Hyde Park's Noise Curfew!

Indie | Wednesday 25th July 2012 | Osh

According to 'Digital Spy', Snow Patrol have managed to grant permission to break Hyde Park's noise curfew and extend it by two hours to 12:30pm.

It seems not even Bruce Springsteen was able to finish his show whilst performing with the Paul McCartney and they were infamously cut off for going off for another 10 minutes after the 10:30 curfew earlier this month.

Westminister Council have often created problems like these before in the past, but the license was still given for the show to be continued late at night, after midnight. The BT London Live gig, on Friday 27th, will include Paolo Nutini, Duran Duran and Stereophonics, with Snow Patrol playing an 80-minute set.

Councillor Audrey Lewis, licensing chairman of Westminister City Council, said "The opening night of the Olympics is clearly an exceptional evening and the Hyde Park show on Friday is timed to run around the opening ceremony of the Olympics... It is clearly different to commercial shows that run throughout other parts of the year."

Westminister Council is also said to have given Blur's gig for the closing ceremony the same privileges of having the 1am curfew.
