Amy everywhere

Time goes by so quickly. One day you look back at something that seemed to have happened yesterday when in actual fact it was a long time ago. We are just some days away from the first anniversary of Amy Winehouse’s death.
Since that afternoon on the 23rd of July 2011, when she was found dead in her home, located on Camden Square; plenty of rumours transpired: abuse of drugs, abuse of alcohol, mix of pills and others toxic substances. The last one pointed to alcohol poisoning. What’s wrong? She’s not here. It’s just that.
Loads of tributes have taken place since then. Her home has seen waves of fans coming around to leave flowers, postcards, pictures, messages, cigarettes and even bottles of alcohol. Not ironically, it was kind of the way of her living. The last demonstration of Amy’s legacy has been put up in Camden Town Tube Station. A poster (scroll down) of the singer, designed by contemporary British artist Johan Andersson, will remain until the 23rd of July coinciding with the first anniversary.

For sure, some documental films or tribute concerts will come up over the next few years. But, at this moment we only know that two posthumous albums are going to be released. According to the late Amy’s father Mitch this will definitely happen as he revealed in his memoirs published last June.
They wouldn’t be the first EP since she passed away. On December 2011 the first posthumous album was released; “Lioness: Hidden Treasures” entered the charts at Number One in December last year and notched up first-week sales of 194,000 copies. Only behind Lady Gaga’s Born this Way, Coldplay’s Mylo Xyloto and Adele’s 21.
We must remember that last September the singer's family set up a charitable trust in her name. The Amy Winehouse Foundation aims to provide support for "young people, especially those who are in need by reason of ill health, disability, financial disadvantage or addiction".
