Can you see what this is a photograph of without reading on?
Photographer Alan Sailer uses an air rifle and fire crackers to create these fascinating images.
Using a high-speed camera capable of multiple frames per second, sailer is able to capture the direction and energy of the bullet as it tears through these various objects.
57 year old photographer is based in California and using parts that he has bought off Ebay including a specialised flash. The photographs are taken in the dark apart from the tiny moment of flash.
The first photograph is a coconut and the second of three hotdogs.
