Children Walking Tall - Protest for Sunshine

Children Walking Tall is a UK based charity that aims to help disadvantaged kids in India. They operate in partnership with an Indian trust and are active mainly in the Goa state of West India. Although one of the richest and most touristically popular parts of the country, there are still many children living in slums and in the streets.
Just to be clear, the slums in India are starkly different from the hood in London, and for those of you who want to see how deep that difference goes - please check out this video made by the charity:
A bunch of people lead by two brothers named Rob and Paul Forkan will take to 10 Downing St. on Monday the 21st of May for what they say will be a “light-hearted protest for sunshine” to raise awareness on the issues surrounding the children of Goa. In their own words: “The poor weather and the current economic climate haven’t exactly put people in the mood for the beach. We thought it would be interesting to combine the two issues with a protest in jest. Hopefully we will cheer even the Prime Minister up!” Not that Mr. Cameron needs cheering up, with all the clowns surrounding his cabinet, but protest is always welcome, especially since it’s for the kids. The protest is aimed at kickstarting a fundraising campaign for building an orphanage in India before the 10th Boxing Day Tsunami commemoration, which also marks 10 years since the brothers lost their parents in the said tsunami.
In all fairness, it must be mentioned that the Forkans are not exactly on par with Mother Theresa charity-wise, since they also own a “revolutionary” flip-flop brand which donates 10 percent of its profits to Children Walking Tall, so don’t be surprised if they try to pitch their rubber jandals to passers-by on Monday, in the name of goodwill. Ending up in Goa wearing those would really be a twist of fate, not that British tourists ever go near the squalor of India’s poor suburbs. U get me!
