Pingit

Barclays Pingit app is now available to customers of all UK banks and building societies.
Since February, Barclays Pingit has enabled users to send and receive money between bank accounts by entering the recipient's phone number, thereby reducing the need to share personal bank details.

After being reserved for only Barclays customers at first, after 400,000 apps were download on the Apple store, the bank has announced that it is now available to all. Now anyone over 16 who has a UK account and mobile number can use Pingit, except for Windows Phone users. In fact, Barclays wanted to focus on IOS, Android and Blackberry, but there is no doubt that the application will be available soon for these devices.

Antony Jenkins, the chief executive of Retail and Business Banking at Barclays said, "Barclays Pingit is proving to be more popular than even we were expecting and from today the customers of all UK banks and building societies can also benefit. The ability to make simple payments to whoever they want, wherever they are, instantly and securely, is making many people's lives much easier.
Barclays Pingit is potentially a revolution in banking, but this is just the beginning. We are listening to customer feedback and monitoring the demand for additional functionality so there's a lot more to come over the next few months.”

This application has introduced a new sort of payment. One which is very easy to use and which will probably be extend to others countries soon.
