Catwalk Review: Tata Naka A/W 12
Friday 24th February 2012 | Osh
Inspired by Motown, Malawian tribes and Seydou Keita, and with Malick Sidibe’s photography; Tata Naka’s duo of designers Tamara & Natasha Surguladze have drawn the road to strong African cultural influences. This is for their colourful and optimistic A/W 12 collection.
A 43-piece masterful collection mixing ornamental dresses, tweeds, bold and ethnic prints and shapes with 60’s silhouettes, coloured wool and African necklaces. The juxtapositions are groovy, the combinations of different backgrounds are audacious but work divinely well!
A special mention should go to the bright colours that perfectly fit each other and the cuts, the diversity of the collection as well as the suede creepers shoes and their shimmering embellishment, which are masterpieces.
The show literally caught our eyes while the first showrooms were closing, as the beginning of London Fashion Week ends. The electric atmosphere of the presentation as the collection was shooting, the cocktails, the fashionistas but above all that the line was the perfect way to close this A/W 12 London Fashion Week.
