The anticipated fifth studio album from Rick Ross has been pushed back due to his ill health, but all you Maybach Music lovers can stop pining. The Rich Forever mixtape has just dropped and it should keep your hunger at bay a while longer. This mixtape combines great beats with guest features from Nas, Diddy, John Legend, Drake and Meek Mill.
With delux tracks and exceptional production, we’re hoping this is just a taster of what’s to come in God Forgives, I Don’t. Rick tells the story of the streets and cocaine dealing: “I can talk about the bodies, I could tell you 'bout the killin’ / Duct taping niggas in the name of drug dealin'” (High Definition). “
There is also a slow jam featuring the vocals of Kelly Rowland (Mind Games). This mixtape has many notable tracks such as Stay Schemin ft Drake and French Montana, but the collaboration with Nas on the track Triple Bean Dreams really is a highlight: “I remember watching Scarface, the first time look at that big house, that Porsche paid for by crime. How could I sell this poison to peoples in my mind? They dumb to destroy themselves is how I rationalise…” This typifies the lyrical quality on display in this mixtape. Have a listen for yourself.
