Dry The River formed in 2009. They describe their style as “folky gospel music played by a post-punk band.’’ Critics have labelled them ‘’grime-pop’’ and ‘’folk-rock’’, but no matter what you call it, there is one thing that looks certain: 2012 is going to be a big year for Dry the River. Playing out of East London, the lead singer Peter Liddle is originally from Norway. The past three years have really seen this band begin to blossom. The UK market spotted the outfit when they’d barely been together a year. In 2010 the BBC invited them to play their Introducing stage at Glastonbury. In 2011 Dry the River played more festivals including Lovebox, Leeds, Reading and Greenman. With their first album due for release in February and UK and US tours scheduled, Dry the River will be very busy over the next few months. Hopefully TGN can grab an interview with them once things settle down a bit. Good luck, guys. We’re right behind you.
