For all major S.O.J.A fans out there, there is some good news for you. Their new album ‘Strength to survive’ will be out on January 31st. For those of you who haven’t heard of them, Soldiers of Jah Army is an American Reggae, Rock and Dub band based in Arlington, Virginia. The past couple of years were filled with international success for the band with the release of their album “Everything Changes” which gained major popularity among reggae lovers. Over 150,000 albums have been sold with more than 20 million YouTube views. Their songs call out for unity, hope and love among people. Their honest approach to music has allowed them to break through obstacles like language barriers, distance and culture - and has allowed them to headline shows in more than 15 countries worldwide.
The band consists of seven artists, with Jacob Hemphill as lead vocals and guitar. His voice is pure honey and charged with loads of positive energy.
The title track off their new album asks the listener to pause and think. It’s about “How and what we are doing to the Earth,” says singer Jacob Hemphill. “It’s pretty scary to see what’s happening and how fast it’s happening. Our world is in a war over make-believe boundaries that we created ourselves, and it’s over money, which we also created. The truth is that there’s only one world and one people. If we don’t act like it, we are doomed. That’s the inspiration for the video.”
Among the album’s main highlights are the ethereal “Let You Go”, “Mentality” the first track in the album, “Be with me now”, “Don’t worry” and “When We Were Younger”, the latter bringing together the macro with the micro with the simple yet powerful line “All of my answers now that I am older, turn into questions”.
Check them out now and become one of the ones fighting for Peace, Love and Unity.
