Hidden Gem: Jamboree - A Fuzzy Bohemian Time Warp

Jamboree literally is a hidden gem. Located just off Butcher Row in Limehouse, East London, behind the iron gates of a former Victorian sweet factory that now houses a small community of artists; Jamboree is quietly gaining a reputation as one of London’s best small music venues.
Stepping inside Jamboree is like stepping into a different decade, although deciding which decade is difficult to decipher. The small room is decorated with an array of mismatched furniture and bric-a-brac objects that give the place an eccentric yet homely feel. Hidden in the corner you will find the venue’s resident Spanish artist, who spends the majority of his time painting those who frequent the venue. And at the far end of the room you will find the venues stage, which looks more like a miniature 1920s theatre set!
Jamboree hosts an eclectic range of live music from around the world every night of the week, from European Folk to Gypsy Jazz, and always promises to be a good time. Dancing on tables is commonplace and singing wildly with drunken strangers is compulsory. A real bohemian time warp and a lot of fun!
