One To Watch: SYV

House | Wednesday 26th November 2014 | Nick

Primo Baker and Thomas Quembit, 19 and 20, hail from West London and the East Midlands respectively, and are better known as SYV. They've been slamming the deep house scene since late 2013, and their first release 'What Must I Do' would  surely have taken Soundcloud by storm if they had more than 200 followers.

Their music falls under the somewhat niche genre 'Australian house', and perfectly blends underground deep house vibes with a more mainstream feel. Their songs are very easy listening: suited to Mum's driving tunes and as well as being spun by DJ's worldwide. Don’t believe me? Give this a listen.

Currently SYV have under 2,300 followers on Soundcloud and most of their songs have less than 15,000 plays: they are still truly underground. However, this year they have begun to get more of a feel for the music scene and this weekend are playing at the Ministry of Sound, supporting Calyx & Teebee, High Contrast, Rockwell, Copy Paste Soul and more.

They don't have too many releases as of yet, but from what's out there so far, they have a very  relaxed, easy, happy vibe to pretty much all of their songs in more ways that one that we can all enjoy.

Check out their remix of 'Higher Ground'  by Blonde free for download on Soundcloud
