One of techno’s biggest labels, Drumcode, releases a two-part compilation entitled 'A-Sides' following the success of their first in 2012. A-Sides was used as a way for Drumcode to release some of the demo tracks submitted to the label, without partnered ones in which to release as an EP.
This time, A-Sides is in 2 different parts, each side ten tracks long, all of which have been tried and tested on the dance floor by label boss and Techno meastro Adam Beyer. They're also celebrating the airing of their podcast for the 4th year, hitting over 200 shows and showcasing live sets from Adam Beyer and many other Drumcode artists.
Recently Adam Beyer has been making significant waves in the techno scene and gaining popularity, especially in London through regularly hosting Drumcode parties, bringing their flavour of Techno to the capital's clubs, festivals and warehouses.
The new A-Sides compilations are a testament to Drumcode’s cutting edge approach to the scene, featuring a mix between Drumcode staple members and a number of new artists never before signed to the label. A-Sides is the name, A-Side quality is what you can expect from the material.
The label was established in 1996 with a clear vision described as 'honest, forward thinking and functional'. The label, now 18 years old, has remained on the same course and has become a home for many techno superstars including Cari Lekebusch, Joe Mull and Jesper Dählback to name a few. Despite this, Drumcode has also become a great platform for a number of upcoming techno producers such as Joseph Capriati and Alan Fitzpatrick.
To celebrate the milestone of 4 years and 200 podcast shows, the Drumcode stage at Awakenings Festival will be broadcasted live. It's the first time that Drumcode has hosted an arena there and the special show will feature some music from the stage, as well as special guest interviews throughout.
It looks like Drumcode’s success story has started to reach its brink, but as the A-Sides compilations show; the label has still got the strong vision that has carried it thus far, and they look sure to continue that way.
