Asher Roth @ XOYO
RnB/Hip Hop |
Thursday 6th March 2014 | Bloddick
When I first heard one of Roth's most popular songs 'I love College' a few years ago, I immediately thought of him as the new Eminem. Even though the topics he touched were not even close to the intensity of Eminem's work, he still had some enviable rapping skills for a white guy.
Asher never liked this similarity that people, like me, often notice. In 2009 he even released a viral track entitled 'As I Em' off of his debut studio album Asleep in the Bread Aisle. In the song, Roth addressed several Eminem comparisons within the hip-hop industry:
The intemperate rapper has now been left out of the scene for a few years, but we all have the feeling that he is ready to show once again his ardent talent through the new upcoming album and the following tour, which will hit the hottest spots in the USA and in the UK. London's turn will be on May the 5th and XOYO will be the Venue hosting the show.
