With folk becoming more popular in mainstream music than ever before, CoCo and the Butterfields could be the next gem for your music collection. In 2012 they won ‘Best Unsigned Act’ at UK Live & Unsigned and they have shared the stage with the likes of Bastille.
Ambitious and energetic, it’s fantastic to witness musicians effortlessly absorbing elements from very different genres, that have the knack to make it work as one sound. There is an obvious influence of Irish jigs and bluegrass, but with the added beat-boxing techniques CoCo and the Butterfields are on to something timeless and truly unique. Their own music is upbeat and catchy – their new single with intense tempo and likeability – 'Warriors' – was released in September 2013.
CATB are theatrically crossing musical paths and really bringing music to life. The stamina of being able to beat-box along with a band for a full set is truly inspirational and their unconventional style and quirky nature as a band will help their rise to success. Not to mention they are supporting the band that brought us the hit 'Teenage Dirtbag' – what's not to like?
