Pale Waves Make Waves Indie | Monday 27th February 2017 | Lorna king nun the 1975 pale waves superfood indie Manchester four-piece Pale Waves debuted their new single last week, titled There’s A Honey. The track was produced by The 1975’s Matty Healy and George Daniel, but their unique electro-pop sound still shines through, reminiscent of 90s shoe gazers Lush and the dark romanticism of The Cure. Lead singer Heather certainly cuts a striking figure with her mop of black curls and dark eye shadow. The track caught the attention of Radio 1’s MistaJam and its premiere on the show is surely a sign of things to come. A world away from their beginnings in Manchester’s student suburbs. Dirty Hit label mates The Japanese House and Superfood have also enjoyed considerable success in the last year, selling out venues across the country, and Pale Waves will join Superfood and King Nun for the label’s UK tour, starting in March at Oxford’s O2 Academy.
