22 Festivals team together for the UK's biggest festival fundraiser

Indie | Thursday 28th January 2016 | Arren

If you’re going to try your luck with any prize draw, make it this one!

The Festival Refugee Fundraiser is a coalition between 22 of the UK’s best independent festivals who are all seeking to raise urgent funds for the refugees in Northern France. Festivals including Boomtown, Shambala, Outlook, Dimensions and Secret Garden Party are offering up a pair of tickets to be won to anyone pledging some money to the cause. Together they hope to raise £25,000 by March.

100% of the cash raised will go to refugee crisis charities, with the bulk going to the Aid Box Convoy: Bristol – refugees in Grand Synthe project. The money will provide a lifeline to thousands of refugees currently struggling through the winter months in camps that lack basic facilities.

The Aid Box Convoy was started in Bristol and has been delivering and coordinating aid to get to those who need it most since early October. They ensure that they have volunteers on the ground to help those living in the terrible conditions and give them the basics they need to survive.

This is the biggest festival fundraiser ever held, and for good reason, as each day the situation worsens and the job only gets harder. But here, we the festival goers, can make a difference. If we pledge between £5 to £50, we'll be entered into the prize draw to get a pair of tickets, and we can have an unforgettable weekend at any one of these incredible festivals, don't sit around though as the deadline is the 1st of March.
