Ellie Goulding Beats Lady Gaga to No. 1!

Her new single “Burn” has been number one for three weeks now, and it doesn’t look it’s going to shift anytime soon. Goulding was described as “ecstatic” when the news was revealed to her from Radio 1’s Scott Mills last Sunday.
“It feels amazing, but weird. Weird because I didn’t really expect it to be Number 1, let alone for this amount of time!"
“I feel very lucky, because it wasn’t like I released it in a quiet week of mediocre songs,” she added in reference to her rivals. “There are some big smashes, so I’m really happy.”
Whereas with the recently controversial star Miley Cyrus, mainly spanning headlines for her VMA performance with Robin Thicke which consisted of “twerking”, her single “We Can’t Stop” landed 5th place this week.
As for so called “Queen of Pop” Lady Gaga, despite her trip to the UK for the iTunes Festival this week and her first live performance at last weekend’s VMA’s, her new single “Applause” from her album “ARTPOP” only reached 7th place. However Ellie reckons she “…WILL be Number 1 at some point.” Come on Ellie, have some more confidence in yourself!
