Lady Gaga New Track 'Applause' Released A Week Early Due To Leaks
Lady Gaga's highly anticipated new single has been released early due to a series of leaks finding their way across the web.
Gaga tweeted 'DUE TO HACKERS AN ABUNDANCE OF LOW/HIGH QUALITY LEAKS...WE ISSUE THIS POP MUSIC EMERGENCY...MONSTERS SPREAD THE WORD.'
In the promo pictures for the album, Gaga can be seen modelling a prosthetic arm. What the meaning behind the prosthetic limb remains undetermined. Perhaps it's in reference to her comment last week, before the track was released, when she stated "If I had to go another month without playing the new music I think I'd chew my arm off.' Maybe the wait was just too much? It could also have deeper meaning, questioning the authenticity of music seen as Gaga tweeted asking fans "How do you like your pop? Retouched? Or Unretouched? -- HAUS OF GAGA"
The track which was not due to be released until the 19th is the lead track off her new album ARTPOP which is due to be released on November 11th. Gaga has said that she has worked with a number of artists on the album including Inez and Vinoodh. She has also worked with performance artist Marina Abramović for whom she posted a video for earlier this week. Read the full story here. Also, regarding the art influences of the album Gaga has announced via Facebook that the new album will include an app bringing "ARTculture into Pop in a reverse Warholian expedition." Sounds interesting?
