Arctic Monkeys Unveil Trippy Video To 'Why'd You Only Call Me When You're High'

Indie | Tuesday 13th August 2013 | Billy

Arctic Monkeys just can't get enough of the limelight at the moment after an amazing year for the band has seen them release ground-breaking tracks 'R U Mine' and 'Do I wanna Know' followed up by an epic Glastonbury headline set, which was without doubt the pinnacle of the bands career. And not to leave any of us waiting, they're back once again with the trippy video to 'Why'd You Only Call Me When You're High' which is to feature on the bands highly anticipated new album AM.

The video, directed by Nabil, sees a worse for wear Alex Turner leave the rest of his bandmates in a bar, with 'Do I Wanna Know' playing in the background , to see to a 4am booty call. As he stumbles down the road towards the house of the girl he is texting, Alex faces many disturbing sexual hallucinations and unfavourable characters whilst in pursuit of the girl.

The track is the latest of the three singles to be taken from AM, due to be released on September 9th, Turner has previously claimed that there is a strong Rap/Hip Hop influence on the record claiming that one song "Sounds like Dr Dre".

To celebrate the release of their fifth studio album, Turner and co will embark on a UK tour kicking off in Newcastle at the Metro Radio Arena (Oct 22) and finishing on a homecoming gig at the bands beloved Sheffield Motorpoint Arena (Nov 2). This tour is not to be missed so I'd advise you all to get tickets by any means necessary for what is going to be an epic tour.

Tour dates are as followed:

Newcastle Metro Radio Arena (October 22)
Manchester Arena (23)
London Earls Court (25, 26)
Liverpool Echo Arena (28)
