The former ASDA supermarket worker and X factor finalist has topped the official UK albums top 100 with “Love Never Fails”.

Douglas shoved Robin Thicke's album Blurred Lines into second place, while Magna Carta Holy Grail from U.S. rapper Jay-Z fell to third place.

The X factor singer’s first album is a collection of songs that he has made ‘jahmazing’ and flavoured with his own soul.

Just hearing it you almost don’t have to ask which singer has influenced him most.  It would have to be the legendary Whitney Houston album Love Never Fails and includes Whitney Houston's The Greatest Love of All with his X Factor mentor Nicole Scherzinger, and his rendition of “I Look To You”.  This album also features famous soul singer Stevie Wonder.

Jahmene has a moral compass rarely found in the music industry today. But his values are bound up in the dreadful abuse he suffered as a child, which, he says, remains part of his DNA.

Today he is the Women's Aid Ambassador for Children and Young People.

Jahmene received a special message of congratulations from X Factor boss Simon Cowell, who tweeted: “Congrats jahmene. Amazing.”

The 22 year old is currently working on his second album which will have more of his own material.
