A healthy third of the founders of Potent Funk Records, Dabbla has been on the move routinely dropping tracks lifted from his forthcoming 2nd studio produced LP ‘Death Moves’.
These tracks have come equipped with super crisp, clean, if not slightly twisted visuals, courtesy of the forever talented Spin City in collaboration with the CGI masterminds at Pose Works.
From all outward appearances with regards to the album, it seems that the process of putting it together musically, along with the time spent producing the quality videos to go with the singles, has been what many would call ‘a labour of love’. If that’s what it is, then 'Death Moves' has been looking and sounding as if it has been worth the effort for a hot and spicy minute.
For now you can chew on the latest tasty treat lifted from Death Moves, this one’s called ‘Long Gone’ and features bars from his Dead Players compadre Jam Baxter, with the ultra moody levels and jarring bass provided by Potent Funk producer-in-chief Sumgii.
‘Death Moves’ drops on October 1st and features production and vocals from heavyweights of the scene including Pete Cannon, Don Piper and Dirty Dike, his Problem Child squaddie Illaman, talented songstress Eve Lazarus, and long time supporter of the UK hip hop scene, the vocal powerhouse Rag'n'Bone Man.
Have a butchers at the freshly dropped bars from the man just below to get you all warmed up for the ‘Death Moves’ launch party at the The Old Blue Last on Friday October 5th. It promises to be a huge celebration of hybrid rap vibes and independent British music, so for a right proper knees up grab yourself some tickets while you still can here.
