The Baron of Techno is back with the third studio album of his long career.
Dave Clarke, named the Baron of Techno by John Peel, is one of the UK’s most respected and cherished producers. His career spans three decades and includes a massive back catalogue of classic tunes, the hugely successful White Noise radio show and a list of artists he’s remixed that’s long and diverse.
14 years since his last album, Devil’s Advocate, Clarke has released his next album; The Desecration of Desire. A ten tracked story that Clarke admits is his first fully formed musical vision as he wants it. He explains “I decided to write it as I would a book, so the track order you have was also the order in which they were also written, like chapters”.
It’s a show stopping piece of work that pulls you deeper with each track. Clarke’s undeniable knack for producing incredible and emotive music is really prevalent throughout the album. Dave hasn’t geared this to a techno sound, rather he explored the various sounds and styles he likes that has meant this album includes “some delightful, intelligent and deep people” who’ve inspired him.
You can hear the album’s first single below, go nab yourself a copy here and catch Dave Clarke at Superstition on December 9th at Village Underground, details for that over on our listings.
