Chance the Rapper saves Soundcloud

Recently, there was speculation that SoundCloud, the major streaming service that has birthed the careers of major artists, namely Lil Uzi Vert and Chance the Rapper himself, would be shutting down.

This speculation was a result of the music streaming service shutting down their offices in London and San Francisco with reports also surfacing that SoundCloud only had enough funding to last until the last quarter of 2017.

But after a phone call with the SoundCloud CEO, Alex Ljung, the superstar musician, Chance the Rapper, informed the rest of the world via Twitter that the streaming service was here to stay.

Coincidentally, the conversation between the musician and the CEO must have worked as SoundCloud are already making new moves, as they are now close to unveiling a new documentary that "explores the communities of emerging scenes that are embracing the service to connect, collaborate and create a new musical landscape".

This might be an indicator that they aren’t going anywhere anytime soon.
