Sold for over £652 million, Body Shop has new owners Other | Wednesday 28th June 2017 | Grace Animals cruelty free thebodyshop From body butter to shampoo and novelty cinnamon smelling Christmas shower gel, Body Shop sells a magical array of wonderful delights for the body. However, despite promoting themselves to be cruelty-free and 100% vegetarian, the chain has often come under scrutiny from animal lovers. This is because the company is actually owned by L’oreal, who do test on animals for their products. Which means that whenever products are bought from Body Shop, a percentage of that profit is going towards a company that does test on animals. But there is some good news for the store, which has shops in 66 countries, it has recently been sold to Natura, a Brazillian beauty firm. Natura is dedicated to producing responsible and sustainable products, and alongside Body Shop they are devoted to helping people, the planet & animals.
